Welcome in the world of Interactive Shadowplay…

In the traditional shadow play, which is performed behind a screen, there is a classical theatre play system that is based on the shape of human, animal and object. The artist can direct the performance with improvisations according to the spectators’ response and this feature also shows that it is an interactive performance. Considering this description, during the summer school, the students will face the question of reinterpreting the early performance techniques by using the advantages of today’s technology. This question will be developed more as, if it is possible to add new dimensions to our concepts of interactive media design by examining the techniques of the art of show of past cultures such as Traditional Shadow Play.
